Littleborough which is a small traditional Pennine town is 5 minutes away by car or 15-20 minutes walk.

A good selection of food shops in the centre include:

Lee’s and Cryers Butchers, Hampsons Bakers and the Village Bakery provide fresh bread, cakes and pastries and Rebecca's cafe also sell delicious cakes, she will also make them to order.

There is also an art gallery on the square which also has a selection of very nice, tasteful gifts.
Kelsalls Bookshop which specialises in second hand, local interest and antiquarian books in Littleborough square is highly recommended.

Other shops include: ladies shoes, ladies clothes, childrenswear, nursery goods/toys, hairdressers, wool/fabric/haberdashery, hardware, discount shop

Sainsburys Local on Harehill Road stays open till 10pm (ATM cash point outside)

The Co-op have a large supermarket next to the Railway Station which has an excellent selection of food, wine and beer. It has it’s own car park and is open until 9pm Mon-Sat and closes at 4pm Sun. (ATM cash point outside).

Directions to the shops: Through the traffic lights, past the Church and Littleborough Square, turn right into Harehill Road and look for somewhere to park!

There is a Farmers Market on the second Sunday every month on Peel Street which is just off the square, craft stalls are in the Conservative Club.


Todmorden, 4 miles away has a market that is bustling Fridays and Saturdays. The indoor market is a traditional arcade and is worth visiting. It also has a Morrisons and Lidl

Hebden Bridge is a 20 minute journey by train or car (the route over the tops is scenic) Voted Britain funkiest town, it has a good selection of shops and a a selection of outdoor cafes.

Rochdale , 4 miles away has branches of Marks and Spencer, Asda, Tesco, and Morrisons.

Bury , 10 miles away is world famous for it's market Bury Market.Com


Serious clothes shoppers may want to head off on the train to Manchester. Trains from Littleborough station run approximately every half hour up to 8pm when they are hourly.
The centre of Manchester and the Arndale is only a 5 minutes walk from Victoria Station.

The
Trafford Centre is easily accessible from the motorway and takes less than an hour.
